AP Drawing and AP 2D Art and Design are college-level, co-seated art courses. College Board outlines the course skills as the following: inquiry and investigation; making through practice, experimentation, and revision; and, communication and reflection. Students create an inquiry based statement which is explored through a digitally submitted portfolio containing fifteen original images as part of their Sustained Investigation. Example AP Drawing media include drawing, painting, printmaking, and mixed media. Example AP 2D Art and Design media include graphic design, photography, fashion design and illustration. Successful completion of Intro to 2D plus one additional two-dimensional art course in addition to teacher approval are required for AP Drawing and AP 2D Art and Design.
